Josh is a musician, bandleader, arranger, songwriter and singer. He has been playing and singing for over 20 years, and directed vocal/acapella groups for more than 10 years. He graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2021 with a bachelor of music in vocal performance (concentrations in acoustics/electronics and teaching contemporary voice).
Josh has been teaching voice for five years to learners from middle school to adult, from beginners to advanced. He believes anyone can sing. He is passionate about helping his students unlock the potential in their voices, and develop the skills for a lifetime of improvement. He loves working with students to discover their "a-ha!" moments, and then teach repetition techniques to develop muscle memory around positive habits. Aside from his own singing and his teaching of voice, Josh is also a dancer, performance artist, a runner, mountain biker, nature-explorer, and competitive recreational athlete. He believes all the things in which we find joy are tied into one another. He looks forward to helping new students discover their joy in singing. He teaches all of these styles: jazz, blues, folk, musical theatre, pop, R&B, and rock as well as audition preparation.
Josh is a Certified Tunelark Voice Instructor

What Josh's students are saying
"I’ve been working with Josh for six months, and the results have been amazing. His teaching methods have totally transformed my voice. His approach is simple, but fun and effective, and the results speak—or, in this case, sing—for themselves." ~ Celia
"My daughter has been taking voice lessons with Josh for three years. It has been such a positive experience. She has gained both knowledge and confidence. Josh has helped her to meet her goal to comfortably perform the national anthem at school events. She loves singing, and he’s really supported and nurtured her skills." ~ Emily
"I’ve known Josh for years. Back in college, he was one of the most talented singers I’d ever met. Later when I developed a passion for singing, it was only natural to study with him. Josh’s approach helped me understand the mechanics of vowels and consonants, which not only improved my pronunciation but also strengthened my overall vocal technique." ~ Nian
