Jana, an Orlando-based German-American violinist and violist, has been a member of the Greenville Symphony since 2024. She regularly subs with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, Jacksonville Symphony, Charleston Symphony, and others. She holds bachelor’s, master’s and post-master’s violin degrees from McGill University and Indiana University. Jana has taught for ten years privately, at the West Island Music Academy in Montreal CA, the Vivace Chamber Players in Seattle WA, as well as other notable online violin academies.

### Teaching Approach
Jana’s weekly lessons are fun, productive, and crafted to fit into busy weeks. Adult students choose their favorite genre including classical, jazz, pop, hymnal, or blue grass, while younger students learn the Suzuki method and student concertos. Students learn intonation, articulation, bow distribution, and later, vibrato, shifting, and double-stops. All Jana’s students have the opportunity to participate in three yearly online recitals, and she encourages them to take their practice beyond recitals, to perform within their own community—with school and church groups, and in jams.
