During a career of over 25 years as a professional musician, Alex has been teaching guitar for over 20 of those years at music schools in both Brazil and the U.S. He attended Berklee College of Music where, in 1998, he was voted top five guitar player of the year. Alex has taught students of all levels, beginners to advanced, including music producers, songwriters, well-known and rising artists, and top session players. A Grammy nominee himself, Alex has worked with major artists and Grammy Award-winning/nominated musicians. He is well versed in many music styles and has performed for a wide range of audiences on tour. With an extensive knowledge of music theory and performance, Alex excels at helping students uncover their potential and reach their musical goals. He always connects his teaching to the interests of his students and also shows them the “behind the curtains” of music – through the lens of theory, songwriting, and composition. He even talks gear, biographies, musicianship, and anything else a student may be interested in. Alex believes music is a universal language, and he avidly shares his enthusiasm for all things music-related.
